This blog entry will discuss different cultures worldwide to make you more innovative and curious. I was fascinated with some of these countries’ arts or cultures and their people. It was an eye-opener.
It is a common phenomenon for most people to be curious about what other civilizations are out there on the entire planet. Most of us see how many different languages people speak and have heard about cultures from places like Africa and Asia (even though we don’t hear much about them, too!).
But since there are so many different countries and regions in our world, it can be hard to decide which countries are the best to visit and which ones to avoid!
There are a lot of differences you should keep in mind for travel, and some of them might even discourage you from visiting certain countries because they are full of cultural conflicts that are not worth your time. Here are our five fascinating cultures!
Japan
Japan is a country located in Asia and has a very colorful history. They were called “The Land of the Rising Sun” for a few hundred years until they became the most populated nation following WWII.
They have a large population ranging from about 83 million to 120 million, making them one of the most prominent nations on Earth.
Their culture has many exciting things like kabuki drama (dramatic performance), martial art, Hikari kuruō (forest bathing practice), Japanese gardening, Buddhism and Zen Buddhism, traditional music, Kansai painting, food and drinks such as ramen, Hokusai tea, etc.
You can read more about how they are so influential here. They do other things, such as making traditional toys, clothing, and their religion. One example of a famous festival in Japan is Mount Fuji Festival which takes place every year in May.
Taiwan
Taiwan is not only its name but also the island country. Their culture has been developed over thousands of years by native people.
According to traditions, Taiwanese people have strong religious beliefs. The main religions are Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Buddhism, Chiao-Tzu, Chinese Protestant, Confucianism, Kuo-Tzu, Quichua, Chinese Folk Religion, Catholicism, and Wushan Buddhism, among others.
The capital city is Taipei, and their language is Mandarin, along with a unique dialect called Hakkao, which sounds similar to French, Cantonese, Khmer, and Spanish.
Vietnam
If you think about Vietnam, you probably picture some violent war on this beautiful continent with millions of people. But you are wrong. Another country with no fight in Vietnam.
Imagine seeing the entire country’s cultural heritage and architecture with a glimpse of ancient cities. Vietnam is believed to be the first homogenous civilization in the South China Sea.
This culture has had a significant impact throughout Vietnam. There are countless temples from all over the country.
Also, there are tons of historical monuments from where their ancestors lived. Many cities are still influenced by colonial buildings. There are many tourist attractions, especially those popular among tourists.
Thailand
You may have heard about Thailand by now. Those who love traveling and enjoy it are definitely worth exploring. The country is known for its rich culture and unique cuisine.
Not to mention the beautiful countryside and beaches which will take your breath away. If you want to visit Bangkok, you must do a guided tour there.
On top of that, they offer impressive waterfalls and parks. So, for those looking forward to traveling to Thailand, try this tour guide with their local guides and be ready to love every moment you spend there.
Egypt
You may have heard about Egypt and wondered why such a small place has so much magic and beauty.
Yes, it’s true. They are one of the big wonders of the world; however, let us learn more about their culture. You would want to go to this beautiful land for several reasons.
Being the second largest economy in Africa means many opportunities for foreign investors to work there, such as investing in real estate or property management, entertainment or tourism industries, financial investments, real estate investment, telecommunications, and even education.
To give you an idea, the average person earns $200 on the streets, which means you could earn up to $800 on real estate transactions. From my friends and I, everyone thinks that traveling to Egypt is something you should consider doing after knowing about their culture.
A considerable part of their culture is to preserve their way of life, which might change over time. Most of the population of Egypt is Muslim, and they eat halal meals only like any other Muslim people do.
Certain places are strictly forbidden from Christians and Jews. You may have read about Christianity vs. Judaism conflicts in Egypt here.
I hope we have helped you to understand the culture around the globe and made you curious to know why you weren’t aware of some of the civilizations before.
Indonesia
Indonesia is a place where the number of cultures is pretty high, and this makes it one of the first cultures that were mentioned on the “The Most Beautiful Countries on Earth” list, but let’s talk about the most fascinating cultures around Indonesia:
Sukarno-Hatta Culture and Religion
In Indonesia, their religion is Jawaism – the word ‘Jawa’ means religion. They believe in three Gods – the Kula God, the Lord of Thunder and lightning (a god with several forms), and a goddess called Malaya – she has an image of beauty in the middle of the picture below.
Their beliefs are mainly based on Hindu practices, and they believe that everything a person does comes from the Lord of thunder.
They will only accept visitors from Hindus, Christians, or Muslims – no matter how big your religion is.
Also, note that women are highly regarded in Indonesia; this goes incredibly well with men who come here for religious activities like worshipping in temples or visiting the mosque.
They also perform rituals like praying in front of idols or even offering prayers at shrines.
That’s it – many countries might not be suitable for tourists since their history can be challenging to read for someone from another civilization or even from Europe.
Still, you should look into the historical backgrounds and try to find something interesting to watch or listen to. These cultures could teach you more about humanity and how far it has gone.
